No visit is complete without seeing the Borneo big nose – Proboscis Monkeys and the natural X-Mas lights by thousands of fireflies. You can see both at the same place and same day by cruising along the Klias wetland together with our experience tour guide. The monkeys roam over the jungle towards dusk while thousands of fireflies hide beneath trees in the evening.
It is a great combination of wildlife and the beauty of nature and it's perfectly suited for honeymooners or travelers.
SAMPLE ITINERARY
1435 Meet by our experience tour guide and proceed to Kota Klias for the river cruising tour. The journey will take approximately 112km away from the heart city of Kota Kinabalu. The drive will pass by small towns, paddy fields and villages.
1640 Upon arrival, tea and coffee will be served together with some local delicacies. Board boat for river safari in search of Borneo big nose – Proboscis monkey. The cruising will take you approximately 1½hrs and if you are lucky enough you may also spot the salt water crocodile, river otter and numerous species of birds. Return to the jetty for the local dinner.
1900 When darkness sets in, board again to the boat to witness nature's display fireflies. Return to jetty thereafter transfer to Kota Kinabalu.
2130 Estimated arrival at Kota Kinabalu.
